Derrick Lewright
Head Pastor
Pastor Derrick Lewright came to Berean Baptist Church in December of 2013. Pastor Lewright, along with his family, previously served as Baptist Bible Fellowship International missionaries to the country of Poland, from 2001-2013. In 1999 he earned a BA from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, and in 2016 a master’s degree in marriage and family counseling through Liberty University.
Pastor Lewright grew up in Southwest Missouri, in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. It was there that he met and married his high school sweetheart, Amber.

Braden Jones
youth pastor/outreach coordinator
Braden Jones has been attending Berean Baptist Church since 2013. He spent several years volunteering with the youth ministry before being hired on in this position in February of 2019. In 2015, he received his BS degree in Christian Ministry from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO.
Braden's wife Vicki regularly helps control the chaos that is ministry. Their daughter Olivia often contributes to that chaos. Braden heads up the teen/student ministries, children's ministries, and nursery, as well as coordinating churchwide events.

Michael & Joy Martinez
Missions interns/Young adult leaders
Michael and his wife Joy, have been missions interns at Berean since February 2024. They are being mentored by Pastor Derrick and are striving to get experience in all things ministry in hopes of becoming missionaries in the future. They are both 2022 Southwest Baptist University graduates. Michael has a BA in Biblical Studies and Joy has a BA in Intercultural Studies.
In June 2024, Michael took charge of the Young Adults class where he mentors the male college age students, while Joy mentors the female students. Joy is also in charge of all things Social Media.

Barbara lingo
church secretary
Barbara is an integral part of out church. She was the wife of our former beloved pastor, David Lingo, who pastored Berean for many years. They were missionaries with the Baptist Bible Fellowship to both Colombia and Chile for many years. They were both professors at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO.
Barbara is now our church secretary. She is in charge of all the financial happenings at the church. Whether that be counting offering and budgeting, she is always willing to do a myriad of things.

Karri Perry
Praise team leader
Dave and Karri have been serving faithfully in their local church for many years. They lead the Young Adult class for 16 years before they stepped down in June of 2024.
Karri has been leading worship at Berean since 2017. Each week, she prayerfully picks out the music, practices for hours, and then directs our praise team to lead our church family to worship in song. She is an integral part in our praise team.
